Nellie’s cast will be removed on Monday. She’s a proud one, no? I don’t know if it’s anthropomorphizing but the rescuers told me they did not plan to take her away from her old owner, whom they accused of neglecting her and leaving her under the rain despite horrific injuries, but she was “pleading” with them. They decided then and there to rescue her. Just in time, in hindsight, because the vet said she was such in a precarious state she risked going into cardiac arrest. Nellie, we named her after Nellie Bly, is such an affectionate dog. Mishka, our favorite husky, seems to have reconciled with the fact that we now have a new alpha dog.

Nellie, our Belgian Malinois rescue is so intelligent and so affectionate (except at times when she shows Mishka who the new alpha dog is in the house). She’s still in a cast but her health has improved so much since she was removed from her previous home, where she was neglected and barely fed, even after getting run over by a tricycle. The poor girl nearly died.

Nellie, like any dog, loves being rubbed. Mishka, on the other hand, can’t believe her caretaker is carrying another dog. Nellie still wears a cast and is under medication. The vet said she should be made to rest in a cage because of her cast. We’re letting her out once in a while, though. Nellie is a Belgian Malinois allegedly neglected at her previous home. She was rescued and we’ve taken her in.

Friends, this is Nellie. We named her after Nellie $Friends, this is Nellie. We named her after Nellie Bly. She has had a rough start in life. The shelter said she was neglected at her previous home. A neighbor’s child said she was barely fed. She sustained wounds and suffered a leg fracture after getting run over by a tricycle. She was then left out under the rain despite her injuries, the rescuer said. Her health was in such a precarious state the vet feared she would suffer cardiac arrest. But she’s better now. We’ve taken her in. She’s a Belgian Malinois, a shepherd dog. After an initial screaming match, Mishka has accepted her. #belgianmalinois$
